NORMAN BERGEN holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from New York’s acclaimed Manhattan School of Music.
Mr. Bergen’s songs have been recorded by Sir Tom Jones, Wyclef Jean, Dion DiMucci, Snoop Dogg, Long John Baldry, and Nick Lowe among others. There are more than one hundred versions of his composition “Only A Fool Breaks His Own Heart” which has been translated into six languages.
As Music Arranger, Norman has been involved with hundreds of recordings including the multimillion sellers “Candida”, “Knock Three Times”, and “What Are You Doing Sunday” by Tony Orlando and Dawn.
As pianist, vocalist, or Band Leader, Mr. Bergen has performed virtually every type of music with people ranging from Sedaka to Stokowski in venues from the Copacabana to Carnegie Hall. He has conducted orchestras on stage and TV for Debbie Reynolds, Robert ‘Benson’ Guillaume, and Juliet Prowse.
Norman holds the record for the greatest number of performances (more than 3400) as Musical Director of a Broadway show for “Oh! Calcutta!”
He is currently active as Musical Director for American Queen Steamboat Company and Victory Cruise Lines, a division of HMS Global Maritime.
